German consortium may take part in Russian Railways’ project
MOSCOW, Nov 29 (PRIME) -- National railroad operator Russian Railways has suggested that the German Initiative consortium comprising several large companies should participate in construction of a Eurasia high-speed railway to build a 2.86 trillion ruble segment between Moscow and Berlin, a source close to negotiations told reporters on Wednesday.
Russian Railways is preparing to build a 9,447 kilometer high-speed railway to connect China’s Urumqi to European railways through Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The German Initiative earlier said it may participate in construction and financing of the project.
According to Russian Railways’ presentation, the Moscow -Berlin segment of the railroad will stretch for 1,852 kilometers.
